Workout #1

a) Inside pivots

Post up off the block for a pass, inside pivot (reverse pivot on the outside foot), jump shot.

Progression - inside pivot, drive middle.

Workout #2

a) Flash cut shooting

Start in the short corner, flash cut to the foul line for a pass and shot.

Progressions

- rip thru and drive opposite for a pull-up, or take it to the rim
- ball fake, go where the pass came from for a pull-up jumper, or take it to the rim.

b) Rapid-fire post moves

Post up on the block, coach feeds one ball after another, make 10 for each move (baseline or middle), examples

- turn around jumper
- jump hook
- up and under.

Incorporate fakes.

(Option - use two balls)

Workout #3

a) Chair workout

Put chairs near each block with balls on them. Go side to side, post up, get low, grab the ball, perform a post move (start with jump hooks), go for one minute at a time.

Kevin Sutton (FIBA Assist 17) - two-chair low-post moves,
- drop-step baseline
- jump hook baseline and middle
- dribble drop
- reverse pivot to a jump hook.
Put the chairs near the elbows for continuous flash jumpers (from low to high) or trail jumpers (from out top).

b) Post and re-post

Post up for a pass from the corner, make any post move, re-post up the lane for a pass from the wing, finish.up

Workout #4

a) War rebounding

Coach shoots, three players get position, one point for the rebound, another point to the rebounder for scoring, live ball on a miss, play to 10 points.

b) Post positioning

4 and 5 sit back-to-back, constantly moving their feet, coaches quickly fire balls at them, 4 and 5 catch and pass back.

c) Positioning on the break

On the advance pass, attacker 5 and defender X5 sprint to get position, coach throws it in if 5 can get X5 on his back and keep him there.

If X5 is able to front 5, reverse the ball and seal for a high-low pass (reverse pivot on the top foot).up

d) 1 on 1

5 starts from the weakside block, tries to beat X5 to a spot for a pass.

(Option - start with a pass from the top to the wing)

Workout #5

a) Pick and roll shooting

Ballscreen on the 3-point line, as coach comes off, roll to the short corner for a 10-foot shot.

Progressions

- get a pass from coach, rip thru and drive baseline, shoot a runner or take it to the rim
- ballscreen and step back for a 3-point shot.
