Triple threat

  • Basic
    • Square up, ball in pocket (option - other hip)
    • Protect the ball - sweep (low), rip (high), space (shield) pivot
      • shield options - go, spin back (front pivot), sweep (reverse pivot), sweep and cross
    • Read your defender
    • Crossover step, blast step (direct drive)
  • Intermediate
    • First step - advantage (separation), ball and foot hit floor at same time; second step - angle to the rim
    • Jab step (create space)
      • options - cross, go, shoot
      • jab sideways - move defender laterally, crossover attack
      • jab at - defender backs up, shoot
        • counter - side jab and cross
    • Shot fake (get a defender out of stance, or to close in) - go, cross, shoot
    • Combination
      • rocker step - jab step, shot fake, blow by
      • back-up move (create space) - shot fake, jab step, shoot
    • Sweep (low), rip (high), pass fake, step-off (long jab), cross-jab
  • Advanced
    • Attack the top foot if it splits you, otherwise go at the bottom foot
    • Sell opposite
    • Read the help
    • Catch to shoot before triple threat
    • Split and go (drop) - attack a closeout, catch & land with split feet, push off the back foot to attackup

Dribble triple-threat

  • Open stance, closed stance (against pressure)
  • Inside foot - side jab, jab-at (rotate hips, closed stance)
  • Front jab - outside (dribble) foot
  • Hip swivel - into a drop position, outside foot forward
  • Drop options
    • Go, cross, shoot (step up), pullback, through the legs
    • Inverted drop - dribble off the back foot (e.g. into a push crossover)up
