Defending DeMatha close-outs
| 1 Mike Jones
1 and 2 start on the blocks, when coach slaps a ball, 1 closes out on the opposite wing, then 2 goes. Close out with top hand and top foot high (force sideline-baseline), screaming "ball", get down in a good stance, square him off, don't give a straight line to the basket. Stay until coach says it's good, then step-slide to the baseline and change lines. 3 goes next, then 4.
(Option - 3 and 4 pitter patter until they close-out).
See Defending - Nash triangle slides, Fratello 4-player close-outs, Two-man close-outs. |
| 2 Progression - coach jabs baseline, slide with him, then slide middle to the jump circle (go outside to change lines). |
