Fast break
Tar Heels 5 on 0

Roy Williams

Two teams

a) Primary break

Coach shoots with team O in the lane, inbound on a make or outlet on a miss (ballside), run the primary break to the other basket, the point guard pitches ahead (there are no defenders), stay there. Coach shoots next for team X, then repeat at the other basket.

The point guard gets back on each shot ("who's back?").

Variation - each team goes up and back.
coachesclipboard.ca - make it competitive, each team has four possessions with perimeter shots taken by four different players (no layups or post shots), regular scoring. Start in defensive stance, coach shoots, the nearest player challenges the shot, other defenders block out, inbound a make or outlet a miss to the other end, run a play for a shot (correctly, or it's a turnover), then coach shoots for the other team. Options
- overtime
- one point for a tip-in after a miss
- the player on the winning team who did not shoot has to make a free throw to validate the win
- each team guards the other post player, who can score.

See Fast break - Bradley 5 on 0, Tennessee 4 on 0, 5 on 0, Shooting - Tennessee 4-man break.

b) Secondary break

Team O runs the secondary break starting from midcourt, comes back outside the court, team X goes next, attacking the same basket.
