Defending Fratello 1 on 1 close-outs

On coach's signal, 1 and 2 touch hands, then 2 sprints to halfcourt and back and 1 sprints to the baseline and back. Coach passes to 2, who shoots. 1 must close out, contest the shot, and box out.
Progression - 2 can attack the basket with a limit of two dribbles.

Coach is foul-line extended, 1 and 2 are on each side of the foul line facing coach, coach passes to 2 as soon as he turns at centre, 2 attacks the basket looking for a lay-up, and must dribble inside the elbows. 1 must close out hard but under control and not allow a perimeter shot. |
