1 on 1 Around cones
| 1 hoopsking.com
Use chairs or pylons. On the whistle, O1 dribbles to score while X1 runs to defend.
Variations
- use both baskets - spread the pylons into the frontcourt - on a defensive rebound or steal, the defender can counter attack using the other side of the court - allow one offensive rebound at either basket, or both.

Defender X1 on the foul line passes to attacker 1 under the basket. One shot only.
The attacker should go tight by the defender, and speed up (not slow down) as he gets near.

Attacker 1 dribbles around the cone with the outside hand and attacks the basket. On the dribble, defender 2 sprints around the other cone from inside to outside. Only one shot allowed to keep it moving. Change lines, and change sides.
Kevin Eastman - 2 also goes outside to inside around his cone.
breakthroughbasketball.com - 2 goes outside to inside, limit the dribbles after the attacker goes around his cone. Bob Hurley - Drexel 1 on 1 - the chairs or cones are foul-line extended, both players start on "go", 2 runs around inside to outside, stay on that side of the floor (don't cross the rim line), one shot only, one possession for each player. Progression - go continuously until one player scores twice, keep the ball on a score. Changes sides after two minutes.Jim Huber - 1 on 1 fast break drill (YouTube) - the attacker sprints outside to inside, coach passes from near the basket. See Attack/defend - 2 on 1 chair drill. |
