Zone offence Wisconsin X
| 1 X's and O's of Basketball
Wisconsin Badgers
In transition, 1 sees a zone defence and dribbles 3 to the corner, 4 cuts to the ballside low post, 5 comes out top, 2 flattens out on the backside to stretch the zone horizontally.
5 coming back into the middle is useful if the defence decides to run up and trap 1 out of the zone.
|
| 2 If there is no pass to 3 or 4, 1 passes to 5, 4 steps in and posts for a two-count, 3 runs the baseline looking for an open area. |
| 3 5 passes to 2 and cuts to the ballside low post, 4 steps out of the lane and breaks to the top, 1 flattens out on the backside. |
| 4 2 can pass to 3. If 5 gets the ball, 4 can dive to the basket or hold. |
| 5 Continuity on ball reversal. |
| 6 The high post can screen the top or bottom backside defender at any time. On a skip pass, 3 runs the baseline. |
| 7 5 goes to the ballside low post after screening, 4 comes high. |
| 8 The two post players can screen for each other from any direction at any time. |
