Hurley rotation
 | 1 Bob Hurley Four-man rotation with 5 on the baseline (start 1-3-1). A skilled player gets to play in four places. On a pass to 2, 1 goes away (seeing the ball), 4 replaces, 3 flashes across the foul line. 5 has freedom e.g. to stay or run short corner to short corner (shown). |
 | 2 On ball reversal to 1, 4 slides away looking for it, 3 steps out, 2 flashes. |
 | 3 The high post dives on a pass to 5. |
 | 4 On a skip pass, the passer comes right with the pass. |
 | 5 On a pass into the high post, 5 dives, the wings slide, the looks are shot, high-low, hit the opposite wing. |
