| 1 James Borrego FIBA (YouTube) See YouTube video - Spurs offensive concepts. Two-ball shooting using coaches, the offensive set is Strong. The Spurs don't try to break down a 5-man situation with 5 guys out on the floor, they do it out of a 3-man breakdown. See Fast breaks - Spurs 2007, Spurs 2014, Spurs strong. a) Use players 1-3-4. Swing the ball, 1 and 4 stagger away for 3, who waits for the screens, comes off to the top of the key. (In-game option - then 1 runs the baseline to the ballside corner) |
| 2 Coach hits 3, 1 flattens out to the corner, 4 flashes up for a catch, 3 comes off 4 looking for the ball, 4 opens up inside (reverse pivot on the left foot) for a late pass over the top (the Spurs get this 1-2-3 times a game).
(In-game option - 4 comes out to ballscreen) |
| 3 4 gets a pass from the other coach, makes a dribble hand-off to 1 (Parker), who comes off for a floater.
In a game, this is the counter if 3 does not get a pass from 4.
|
| 4 b)
Use players 2-3-5.
Swing the ball, low post 5 goes block to block, 3 doesn't come off the stagger, he goes away.
(In-game option - the first screener turns and uses the second screen)
|
