Shooting Gonzaga motion
| 1 Mark Few
2 on 0
2 passes 3, sets his man up (v-cuts away), and face cuts. In a game, 2 could go out the same side or out the other side.
Players talk with their hands - show the inside hand on a backcut or curl cut, the outside hand when popping out.
50% of action should come from cuts to the basket, 50% from popping and screening. Use feet to get open.
For each action, there should be one reaction - pass and face cut, or screen away. |
| 2 a)
3 passes to 2 for a shot, then fills up for a pass from 1 and shoots.
Fill out then fill up. |
| 3 b)
3 dribbles out of the corner, 2 goes out the same side, then backcuts on a pass fake by 3 (take his man an extra step out past the arc).
On a pass to the corner, you want it out of there.
Backcut on a pass fake or when someone dribbles at you.
Rotate 1 to 2 to 3, or use a coach instead of 1. |
| 4 3 on 0
1 passes to 2, v-cuts away then face cuts to the basket for a pass and layup. 3 fills for a pass and shot.
Cutting action flattens out the defence.
|
| 5 Progression - 2 dribbles at 3, sending him backdoor, showing the inside hand. |
