Press breaks Lakers
| 1 Two-guard front. The first look is long. On a pass to 3 or 4, 1 or 2 fills the middle lane. 5 is the safety. |
| 2 The second look is short. On a pass to 1 (or 2), 2 cuts diagonally up the middle. |
| 3 1 dribbles if he can't pass to 2, who keeps going to the sideline. |
| 4 If 1 is pressured, 2 doubles back to help, 1 passes and makes a diagonal cut. |
| 5 The third look is middle. If 1 and 2 are overplayed on the inbounds pass,
a) 4 cuts back into the middle for the pass and looks to hit 1 or 2 releasing. |
| 6 or
b) 3 and 4 continue to the corners, 1 seals a defender then releases upcourt to get an over-the-top inbounds pass (a good option after a time out). |
| 7 or
c) 1 and 2 break long if face guarded, 3 and 4 break back (invert) to short inbounds positions. 5 looks long, short and then to the middle if needed. |
