Post step-in option
1 passes to 5, 3 backcuts, 4 slides down and screens for 3.
5 looks to pass to 3 on the backcut, or shoot if his defender helps on 3.
| 2 Otherwise 5 makes a strong dribble to the centre of the free-throw area, then 2 comes toward 5 looking for a hand-off to drive the basket (inside or outside), kick the ball out to 1 in the ballside corner, or pass to 4 ducking in. If 2's defender cheats, 2 cuts down the middle of the lane looking for a pass.
5 can hand-off to 2, pass to 4 ducking into the lane, or pass to 3 coming off 4's screen.
Once 3 goes through on the backcut, 5 can also look to attack the basket one-on-one.
| 3 Option for the best shooter
If shooter 2 is overplayed, 1 dribbles toward him. 2 takes his defender down then uses a flare screen from 4.
| 4 2 passes to 4, then
a)
2 fakes a cut up the middle and uses a flare screen from 5.
| 5 On a pass from 4, 2 looks to shoot, pass to 3, or pass to 1 using a staggered screen from 4 and 5.
| 6 or b)
2 fakes a cut up the middle and gets a hand-off from 4.
| 7 If 2 can't shoot he dribbles to the left wing looking to go one-on-one. 4 clears out up top, 1 uses a staggered screen from 3 and 5.
| 8 If 2 can't shoot he looks to pass to 3 or 4.
