|Zone set plays|
Look to exploit the middle of any zone defence.
From a 1-3-1 set, 5 dives to clear the middle, 1 dribbles towards the wing, away from the best shooter (here 2) and towards a low-post match-up (here 5). 3 loops to the top, 2 cuts behind the top of the zone into the middle, timing is important, there should be deception on the cut.
(Variation - 5 starts low, 3-out 2-in)
(Niagara 3-man rotation - 1 shallow cuts 3, reverse the ball from 1 to 2, 1 cuts into the middle)
See Zone offence - Hurley rotation, Duke runner basics, Duke (3 can screen the top of the zone for 1).
2 holds the spot until a pass is made. On a pass to 2, draw the zone in and space the perimeter.
If the bottom of the zone moves up to cover 2, 1 looks behind the zone for 5 and 4.
If 1 passes to 3, look to attack the weakside top defender to score - drive and shoot, kick, or dish.
See Zone set plays - Shallow cut to ballscreen (2 flashes into the middle or ballscreens for 3).
If none of those options is available, look to pass to 2 who pops out top, this can create a shot opportunity.
