2 on 1 Mackay
NCCP Super Clinic 2018
3 passes to 1 and closes out, 1 can shoot if open or otherwise pass to teammate 2 for a shot. Step in from behind the arc to shoot.
3 replaces the shooter.
- 3 can deny 2
- 3 can pass to 1 or 2.
See Shooting - Advantage.
2 ballscreens for 1, who has to shoot from mid-range or further.
2 re-screens if 1 is not open to shoot.
See Attack/defend - Pick and drive, MacKay ballscreens.
Progression - the screener picks and pops, either player can shoot.
The screener sprints out of the screen (don't reverse pivot) looking for a hook or pocket pass (not a chest pass). Set the screen outside the 3-point line.
2 breaks out to the wing for a pass, can shoot or make a boomerang pass back to 1 if not open for a shot, and 1 shoots.
The revised FIBA travel rule gives you 0-1-2 steps on a cut to the wing.
See 1 on 1 - Isley halfcourt, Defending - Pasquali closeouts.
