4 on 0 press-break pattern in the backcourt (use both ends). In a game situation, 5 would usually be in the frontcourt before or after the inbounds pass.

a) 4 inbounds to 1, goes behind and opposite the ball. 3 flashes short middle.

On reversal to 4, 3 cuts back to the sideline, 2 flashes short middle.

On a pass to 3, 2 cuts to the ballside sideline, 1 flashes short middle.

Normally the press would now be broken on a pass to 2 or 1, or there would be an 8-second backcourt violation. However, to rehearse the pattern, continue with reversal back to 4.

A pass to 1 returns to the starting point.

2 has gone right side, middle, left side and back, 3 alternates left side and middle, 1 alternates right side and middle.

b) 4 inbounds to 2 flashing back, 1 cuts up the middle to the ballside sideline, 3 flashes short middle.

Also inbound to 3, 4 runs the baseline. 1 will go left side, middle, right side and back.
