Offence
Petitgoue dribble-drive

sketch
1
Jerry Petitgoue

Penny (dribble-drive attack)

2 and 3 are in the corners, 4 is one step behind 1, 5 is always opposite the ball. Petitgoue doesn't believe in a secondary break, he expects 1 to get at least to the elbow. If he drives the basket and X5 helps, lob or bounce pass to 5.

Dump

1 gets to the elbow, 2 comes up even with the ball (or higher), 3 drags up even with the ball, 4 holds. 1 kicks out to 2 then overloads the corner.

sketch
2
2 drives middle, 4 is right behind him, 5 is going to be opposite the ball so he floats other side. If X5 helps on 2, 2 can pass back to 1 in the corner then clear weakside, 5 pins for a pass from 1 (shown).

Walberg - 1 elevates to an open window.

Memphis - 4 replaces 1.

Drag - if X3 helps, 2 kicks to 3, 5 comes back

sketch
3
Kickback

2 pivots and passes to 4 behind then clears to the corner (3 dragged up). There should always be a guy behind the dribbler (4 going over the top should not get too far over).

Walberg - 4 kicks back then drags back.

sketch
4
Opposite

1 passes to 4 who drives the elbow, 3 and 2 drag up, 5 gets across the lane.

sketch
5
Middle

1 drives left, 3 drags, 5 goes opposite, 4 gets behind right away, 2 drags.

Continuity ("run some offence") - quick hand-offs (but rack it anytime you can), e.g., kickup to 2, kickback to 4, kickup to 1, etc.

sketch
6
Drop

1 drives the elbow, 3 drags up, 2 takes two steps out of the corner then backcuts hard, 5 moves up to the weakside elbow when he sees that, 2 goes through if there is no pass.

sketch
7
1 passes to 5 and basket cuts to clear the side. 5 can come right off 1's backside. 4 goes all the way to the other wing.

sketch
8
Through

They don't drive baseline very often (teams load up on that), but on "through", 1 passes to 2 and goes through.

sketch
9
They want a baseline drive by 2, 5 goes to the front of the rim, 4 fills behind 2. If 2 passes back to 4, he clears through.

sketch
10
High

1 passes to 4 and goes through, 3 drags up, 5 comes up, 4 passes to 5, 2 comes up for a pass, 5 ballscreens (a running pick and roll).

sketch
11
4 gets over on the pick and roll.

sketch
12
Over

4 is a good penetrator. 1 passes to 4, sets a running pick.

sketch
13
1 comes back as the trailer, 2 and 3 drag up.

sketch
14
H

1 dribble hand-offs to 2, 5 relocates, 4 gets behind 2.

Opposite H - 1 passes to 4, who dribble hand-offs to 3.

sketch
15
Rotate

Three-point shot for 2. On ball reversal to 3, 5, 1 and 4 screen for 2 (picket fence).

To get a shot for 3, 1 would pass to 2 then 5, 4 and 1 screen for 3.

sketch
16
Move

1 passes to 4 and goes through, 3 comes up, 4 passes to 3 and goes through, 2 comes right to the middle of the floor.

To run Move on the other side, 4 passes to 1 and goes through.

(Variation - 1 has the ball, 4 corner cuts, 1 passes to 2 and cuts weakside).

sketch
17
3 passes to 2, 5 comes up to ballscreen, the angle depends on X2. 1 and 4 drag up, 3 goes behind.

sketch
18
Quick

2 comes up, 1 passes and goes through, 5 comes up and backscreens for 4 who goes to the corner if there is no pass.

sketch
19
5 pops out top after screening. On ball reversal to 3, 5 basket cuts, then 2 also cuts through.

sketch
20
On ball reversal to 5, 4 basket cuts then 3 cuts through.
