They usually don't call the play, but move depending on where the first pass is made and how the defence reacts. 4 and 5 can exchange positions depending on who rebounds.

1)

1 passes to 5, downscreens for 4 and crosses the lane to the low post.

NBA Coaches Playbook - if 1 passes to 3, 4 backscreens for 1 and exchanges positions.

Tubby Smith - if 5 is the ballside low post on a pass to 3, they don't want to bring him out to backscreen, post him up, stagger screen for a shooter in the other corner.

5 passes to 4, 1 screens for 2 and gets a screen from 5.

NBA Coaches Playbook - 2 could instead use 5's screen to come high and 1 crosses the lane to the low post.

Tubby Smith "go" move - 1 snaps across the lane, 2 comes to the top (used when X2 sags).

Options

a)

3 runs the baseline using a staggered screen from 2 and 5, 4 screens for 2. 1 can pass to 3 or 2.

b)

3 fakes using 2 and cuts up off 4, 2 cuts using 5.

NBA Coaches Playbook - 3 can use 2's screen to cut into the lane or 4's screen to come high. If 3 comes high, 2 cuts into the lane and out to the other corner using 5.

If defenders start to switch when 2 screens for 3, 3 curls around 2 and backscreens for 4, while 2 uses 5's screen and goes out to the other corner.

2)

1 passes to 3 and cuts to the ballside corner, 5 replaces him, 4 comes up to the midpost.

The ball is reversed to 2, 3 cuts to the low post using 4.

1 uses a staggered screen from 4 and 5.

2 runs the baseline using 3-4-5.

Variation - 3 cuts baseline off 4 and 5, 2 stays on the perimeter (Dirk Bauermann).

Seth Greenberg slice offence - 2 is a better shooter than 3.

3)

1 passes to 5, 4 screens for 3, 1 screens for 4, 3 cuts across the lane to the low post, 2 pops out for a pass from 5.

If X2 plays high and X5 stays low to defend a pick and roll, 2 passes back to 5, 3 screens for 2 who cuts baseline to the low post, the ball is reversed to 1.

1 looks to hit 2 then gets a ballscreen from 4, and 2 backscreens for 4 (pick the picker).

1 passes to 2 who passes to 4 at the low post.

4)

Used the most by Argentina at the 2002 World Championship. 5 follows his pass to ballscreen for 2, 3 backscreens for 5 then pops out to the wing.

To get the ball into the low post immediately, 1 passes to 5, 3 uses 4's screen, 5 makes a return pass to 1 and 4 ducks in (1 does not downscreen for 4).
