This is the most fundamental end-out play. 4 and 3 cross-screen at the same time, 2 goes to the ballside wing, 3 second cuts out high. As 5 comes off 4's screen, 4 quickly steps his top foot across 5's defender toward the baseline and posts up looking for a bounce pass from 1. 5 will be open if X5 does not switch, if he switches, 4 will have X5 on his back.
