 | 2 1) 1 passes to 2, spaces out wide and 3 sinks down. 1 dribble clears 2 or 3 if they are denied, or can pass to 4 or 5 for a blind pig (backdoor). a) 5 picks and rolls, 4 moves down. 5 will slip early if his defender shows high outside, 4 reads a slip and sprints right in behind 5 to set a sidescreen. |
 | 3 or b) 5 screens across for 4 who sprints to ballscreen for 2 or slip early. |
 | 4 2) a) 1 passes to 2, downscreens for 4 then clears to the ballside corner (option - using 5). |
 | 5 b) 1 passes and cuts to the ballside corner without screening. Option - 1 cuts using 5. |
 | 6 5 slips a ballscreen, 4 comes out top for a pass, looks for 1 in the corner, 5 inside (he ducks in), or can pass to 3 and ballscreen. Option - 4 can pass to 3, dive and post, 5 comes high. Variations (see Larry Brown 1-4) - 4 backcuts for a pass from 2 - 1 flex cuts off 5 on the pass to 4. |
