Duke down series
That's a Foul (Nov. 2007)
Duke Blue Devils, playing off a downscreen by the trailer.
a) Elbow flash, ballscreen
Trailer 4 downscreens for 2, who comes high.
4 flashes back to the elbow for a pass from 1, 2 gets a handoff from 4 and dribbles towards the corner (if there is no handoff, 4 will turn, face, and attack one-on-one).
4 ballscreens for 2 (and can roll or pop, shown).
b) Curl the pin-down
2 curls the pin-down and goes to the opposite corner, 4 flashes back to the elbow for a pass.
See Fast breaks - Memphis (Go), North Carolina (B-3 counter), Florida 2005 - 2 can reject the screen and backcut.
1 gets a handoff from 4 and dribbles away to set up a ballscreen.
See Fast breaks - Spurs 2007 (Strong) for this two-man game.
c) Flare the pin-down
2 flares the downscreen, 4 dives to the post.
5 holds for the two-man game between 2 and 4, or flashes to the elbow to set up a high-low feed, then keeps going to ballscreen if he doesn't get a pass, and 4 clears weakside.
