Defence 1-3-1 Blackford drills

| 1 Tom Blackford
Teaching the 1-3-1, they start after a made shot (see Defence - 1-3-1 Blackford, also 1-3-1 breakdown drills).
a) 2 on 3
Two attacking guards against chaser X2 and wings X3-X4.
X2 chases the ball with high hands, no matter how hard it is, and has to get the ball out of the middle of the floor.
X2 and a wing box in the ball when it crosses halfcourt, and X2 would keep chasing on a guard-to-guard pass.
The weakside wing does not have to drop back all the way in this drill. |

| 2 b) 3 on 4
Add post 5 who can post up in the middle of the floor, and defender X5 who keeps the ball out of the middle. |

| 3 c) 5 on 5
Offensively, don't ever cross halfcourt without first reversing the ball. Try to get the ball to the corner (e.g. 4-1 and 1-2 passes).
