Two teams (sometimes let the players draft the teams). Team O sets its "batting order", team X matches up defensively.

a) 1 on 1

First inning - 1-on-1 from the left wing, team O scores as many points as possible until they get 3 outs, i.e. team X gets three stops and switches to offence, continue until team X has 3 outs.

Second inning - repeat from the top of the key.

Third inning - repeat from the right wing.

b) 2 on 2

Innings 4-5-6, vary the initial action for each inning e.g. a ballscreen or downscreen from your offence [use a passer for off-ball screens].

c) 3 on 3

Innings 7-8-9, change the initial action each inning.

See Scrimmage - 3 times and out, Attack/defend - Motion breakdowns.
