Coach in the centre circle passes to attacker 2, defender X2 can't go until coach releases his arm. X2 must take the proper angle towards the sideline and not get beat middle (in a game, hard to help). X2 stays on defence against new attackers until he gets a stop. Proper angles make guys 3-5 steps faster.
Also do 1 on 1 from halfcourt, their usual pick-up point (keep the ball out of the middle), and from the wing (no straight-line drives to the basket).
If you are going to get beat, be consistent.
