1 on 1
Close-out

sketch
1
1 passes to 4, closes out, 4 attacks when 1's hand touches 4's hip, limit of two or three dribbles. 4 stays on offence with a score, 1 goes off to the other line. 1 switches to attack on a stop, 4 goes off. 5 always comes in to defend the next attack. 2 and 3 carry out the drill on the other side. Play to 11.

Angie McLeod
a) the attacker can shoot a 3, take 1 dribble and shoot outside paint for 2 points or inside the paint for 1, stays on attack with an offensive rebound
b) live when defender touches attacker's hip, 3 dribbles max.

Other variations
- 1 and 2 roll out the balls and/or start under the basket
- unlimited dribbles
- attackers don't have to wait to be touched on the hip
- attackers can/must move around the arc
- get the ball if you are fouled
- lose a point if you foul
- one point for an offensive rebound
- play to a stop or score
- either player can score after a miss
- attacker always goes off
- can score only with a no-dribble shot or one-dribble layup, or optionally a two-dribble secondary move (Dave Smart).
